Yeah, today, new Internet technology is not a luxury, but an urgent need, like a piece of bread that must be on the table. The image of the museum as a dusty line of exhibits with decorated labels should remain in the past. Now, a visitor, especially young, with education and a certain range of interests before going anywhere, wants to know what he's going to see, considering market categories, wants to know what kind of service he's buying. And we have to give people this opportunity, explain and show why a man should come to the museum.
So the virtual tour is a museum ad, an enlightened tourist guide?
And ads and aids, but not that. What's important is that the presentation of its exponents virtual gives the museum a lot of new opportunities. This is primarily about working with the originals we have to preserve first. In order to show them, security must be ensured, the necessary climatic conditions must be created using sufficient expensive equipment, which is not always possible. So it's a practice to replace the originals in the exhibit with copies, and sometimes it disappoints our visitors.
Even so, a true subject is presented, but it cannot always be considered as appropriate. For example, the Washington National Museum is exposing the Declaration of Independence, the very heart of which it is written by hand and where it has signed 56 deputies from the 13 states that declared themselves a new State, the United States of America. Seeing such documents is very interesting and exciting. But those who used to be in this museum say that in the semi-temperature room, in the light that goes through the special filters, the contours of this leaf are barely visible. Of course, such conditions are not sufficient to consider the subject well.
