Facilitate Virtual Reality
Virtual reality helmets offer great prospects for the game industry, and SteamVR is no exception. It's likely there's a lot of exclusive typing for these devices, but what about the usual games that are already stored in your personal library Steam? Valve took care of this and presented SteamVR Desktop Theater Mode, which allows any games from Steam to virtual reality. In other words, ordinary games start in a big screen mode right in front of the user's eyes.
Until it is clear how this will look alive, but the regime must be compatible with HTC Vive and other SteamVR-shared helmets. At present, Desktop Theater is in the early beta test phase and should debut at Game Developers Conference 2016 next week.
Such a decision could be justified for two reasons.
